Medical File Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical File Clerk to support records management for a non-profit organization in Alsip, Illinois. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate, secure, and well-organized medical and employee documentation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling confidential information, organizing files efficiently, and ensuring records are easy to retrieve when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and organize employee and medical office records to support accurate document storage and retrieval.

• Sort, classify, and file patient medical documentation in a clear alphabetical system for easy access.

• Review records for proper placement and completeness before storing them in the appropriate file locations.

• Protect sensitive information by handling all documents in accordance with confidentiality standards.

• Retrieve requested files promptly to assist office staff with day-to-day administrative and medical record needs.

• Keep filing areas orderly and up to date by regularly reorganizing documents and removing misplaced items.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with medical records in an office, healthcare, or administrative setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and patient documentation practices.
• Strong filing and document organization skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Comfortable arranging and maintaining records in alphabetical order.
• Reliable communication and time management skills in a fast-paced work environment.

Compensation

$19.95-$21.00 Hourly
