IT Specialist
We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist to provide advanced technical support in Jacksonville, FL. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technology professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing infrastructure administration with end-user support. The role combines network and systems management, device administration, and operational troubleshooting to ensure technology services remain secure, reliable, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise LAN/WAN environments to ensure reliable connectivity and performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network, server, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Provide onsite technical support to maintain uninterrupted business and operational activities.
- Install, configure, and support servers, networking equipment, desktop systems, structured cabling, and related IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, test performance, and perform cable patching and termination as needed.
- Monitor system performance, backups, and alerts, proactively addressing issues to maximize uptime and system reliability.
- Coordinate software deployments, upgrades, patches, and application rollouts across supported environments.
- Deliver hands-on support for hardware, software, printers, peripherals, and workstation issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and device policies through Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Group Policy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, inventory records, security procedures, and operational technology tasks.
- Support IT initiatives and special events requiring onsite technical coordination and troubleshooting.
This position is well-suited for a versatile IT professional who enjoys working across networking, systems administration, and desktop support while delivering exceptional service to end users and business stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and macOS platforms.
- Strong understanding of network administration, including LAN/WAN support, routing, switching, firewall management, and Cisco networking technologies.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles, access controls, system hardening, and best practices for safeguarding organizational data and technology assets.
- Experience with endpoint deployment and device lifecycle management tools, including Windows Autopilot and modern device management solutions.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely, effective resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing requests, maintain thorough documentation, and accurately track IT assets and inventory.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support and exceptional user service.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
