Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a customer services organization in Franklin, Tennessee. This Long-term Contract opportunity is suited for a detail-oriented payroll specialist who values precision, handles sensitive information with care, and can manage complex payroll activity in a fast-moving environment. The role focuses on delivering accurate, timely payroll across multiple entities and states while working closely with internal partners to maintain compliance and a strong employee experience.

Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll administration for multiple company entities, ensuring each pay cycle is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Process payroll for employees working in different states and apply applicable state and local payroll requirements correctly.
• Examine payroll inputs, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues before finalizing payroll runs.
• Maintain up-to-date employee payroll information and make system changes as needed to support accurate records.
• Monitor payroll practices for alignment with federal, state, and local regulations and help address compliance-related concerns.
• Prepare payroll-related reports and provide support during audits, reconciliations, and internal review requests.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and operational leaders to verify payroll data and improve overall accuracy.
• Respond to employee questions related to pay, deductions, and payroll records with discretion and clear communication.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements in payroll workflows, controls, and administrative procedures.
• Process payroll for large employee populations, including environments exceeding 500 employees.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of payroll experience with responsibility for full-cycle processing.
• Demonstrated success handling multi-state payroll in a high-volume setting.
• Hands-on experience using Paycom is required.
• Background supporting payroll for more than one legal entity is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour rules, and related compliance standards.
• Ability to safeguard confidential information and exercise sound judgment with careful attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Compensation

$31.35-$36.30 Hourly
