HR Assistant
Our client, a respected organization in the education industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, has strong administrative skills, and is passionate about supporting employees and maintaining efficient HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding process, including preparing new employee paperwork and coordinating orientations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR files remain up to date.
- Enter and update employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Schedule interviews and coordinate communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Assist with benefits administration, leave tracking, and other HR-related programs.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Prepare employment verification letters, reports, and other HR documentation.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
- Assist with special projects and other HR administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of Human Resources or administrative support experience.
- Previous experience in an educational environment is a plus.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with onboarding, employee records management, and HR compliance.
- Experience supporting recruitment and hiring processes.
- Knowledge of California employment laws is a plus.
- HR certification or coursework is a plus but not required.
Compensation
