Sr. Accountant
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the accounting team on a contract basis. This role will be responsible for managing key month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial statements and investigate variances
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely recording of transactions
- Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
- Support audit requests and help prepare documentation for internal and external auditors
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting controls
- Assist with process improvements and cleanup projects as needed
- Partner with cross-functional teams including FP& A, AP, AR, and payroll
- Support special projects related to reporting, systems, and operational accounting
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft D365, QuickBooks, or Workday preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract environment
- CPA or CPA track preferred but not required

Compensation
