Human Resources Generalist

Compensation: $23 to $26 Hourly

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join their team in San Diego, CA. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and committed to fostering a positive workplace culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day HR operations and serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the full-cycle onboarding and offboarding process, including new employee orientation and exit procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Administer employee benefits and respond to employee questions regarding benefits and company policies.
  • Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating the hiring process.
  • Assist with performance management, employee engagement, training, and professional development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor regulations.
  • Prepare HR reports, maintain documentation, and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and other departmental initiatives.



Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or comparable HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience with employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, and recruiting.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and HR compliance reporting.
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced, multi-department organization.



Compensation

$23.00-$26.00 Hourly
