Fabrication Designer
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fabrication Designer position focuses on Fabrication Deliverables and Processes within our Prefabrication Group. A successful Designer will create fabrication documents and details, using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel, to support our fabrication crews. The preferred applicant will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in their career. The Designer will report to a Prefabrication Operations Assistant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create project specific, fabrication details, drawings and other supporting documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel
- Assist in the development and implementation of design standards
- Ensure proper dimensions of layout of equipment, devices, and other components through careful reading of specs or construction and engineering plans
- Communicate technical aspects of a project with other disciplines in the prefabrication department
- Read and interpret construction drawings and documents
- Support the broader team in evaluation of new technologies to increase design efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree or an Associates degree with two or more years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Revit
- General knowledge of construction/fabrication principles, processes, and plans
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products
- Solid interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred
