Driver Qualification Specialist
The Driver Qualifications Specialist is responsible for the final review of all pre-activation assessments and tasks related to a driver and their ability to operate for the company and ensuring all drivers meet guidelines and requirements at time of activation. This role is also responsible for ensuring that all new Driver Qualifications Specialist employees are properly trained in current procedures as well as collaborating with management to identify new processes and procedures for departmental growth
Responsibilities
- Execute new workflow processes for current and new procedures for new specialist positions.
- Must adhere to all FMCSA regulatory requirements as well as established Company policies.
- Ensure every application assigned is 100% accurate and complete, including all required documentation prior to activation.
- Audit Driver Files prior to activation to ensure they are compliant with Company and FMCSA guidelines.
- Ensure all notes made in Tenstreet regarding but not limited to, disqualifications, pending, or approved, have detailed commentary to facilitate clear communication with Recruiting and Onboarding.
- Maintain ongoing communications with the Onboarding Team and management about Driver qualification status. Conducting safety interviews with drivers as requested to obtain more information regarding items found on background or driving history.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good organizational and accurate data entry skills.
- Good time management skills
- Experience working with MS word, Outlook, and Excel
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
- Detail oriented with commitment to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required. 1 year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
- Previous experience in driver qualification preferred.
- Transportation industry experience preferred.
- Teaching and training experience a plus.
- Prior experience working in Tenstreet, TMW, AS400, and/or CS stars preferred.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
- Expected Pay Range: $19.23-$21.75
- Full Pay Range: $19.23-$29.90
- Pay Grade: 6
