Human Resources Technician

We are looking for a Human Resources Technician to provide dependable administrative support for a school district HR team in California. This is a Contract position supporting day-to-day recruiting, employee assistance, and departmental coordination during a coverage need. The ideal candidate brings prior HR experience, exercises sound judgment with sensitive information, and communicates effectively with applicants and staff.

Responsibilities:
• Manage applicant review activities and help move candidates through the hiring process in a timely manner.
• Arrange interview schedules, confirm logistics with participants, and support interview coordination from start to finish.
• Prepare, organize, scan, and maintain personnel and recruitment documents with a high level of accuracy.
• Respond to routine employee and candidate inquiries while delivering attentive and service-oriented support.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation-related meetings to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
• Maintain HR files and perform general administrative tasks that keep department operations organized and efficient.
• Provide hiring-process support surrounding system-related steps that cannot be completed directly by contract staff.
• Partner with assigned schools or departments to support ongoing HR needs and day-to-day coordination.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a Human Resources department is required.
• Strong knowledge of HR administrative practices and standard personnel processes.
• Ability to handle confidential records and sensitive matters with discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented customer service approach.
• Comfortable supporting employees, applicants, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with document management, filing, and general office administration.
• Experience with background checks, legal forms, or related HR documentation is preferred.
• School district experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 Hourly
