Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a growing team in California. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial operations organized, accurate, and on schedule in a fast-moving environment. The position will contribute to reporting, reconciliations, and daily accounting support while partnering with colleagues to strengthen processes and maintain reliable financial data.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research variances to resolve outstanding issues accurately and promptly.
• Prepare and share recurring financial reports that help management monitor performance and make informed decisions.
• Support day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including billing-related tasks, within a technology-driven accounting environment.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records by reviewing entries and safeguarding data consistency across financial systems.
• Assist the team with process improvement efforts and provide accounting support during software updates or conversion-related activities.
• Work closely with accounting staff to meet deadlines and ensure core departmental deliverables are completed with precision.
• Help monitor routine accounting functions to promote compliance, accuracy, and efficient month-to-month operations.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, including work as an Accounting Specialist, Accounting Clerk, or in a comparable position.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations and identify the source of discrepancies.
• Hands-on experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing functions, and other core accounting activities.
• Comfort using accounting software and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience preparing or reviewing financial reports.
• Strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, and effective organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully in a fast-paced work environment.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
