Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for someone who brings strong bookkeeping knowledge, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The role will contribute to day-to-day accounting accuracy while helping maintain organized records and timely month-end activities.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, confirm coding accuracy, and assist with timely accounts payable activities.
• Prepare customer billing support and help maintain accurate accounts receivable records and follow-up.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure financial records remain complete and accurate.
• Record journal entries and support the preparation of documentation needed for month-end close.
• Maintain accounting files, reports, and supporting records with a high level of organization and precision.
• Work closely with internal team members to resolve discrepancies and keep accounting workflows moving efficiently.
• Assist with bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks and help ensure transactions are entered correctly.
• Contribute to daily accounting operations while prioritizing deadlines and multiple assignments effectively.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, with 4-5 years strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ability to reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity with strong accuracy.
• Experience coding invoices and reviewing financial details carefully.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and a dependable approach to completing routine accounting tasks.
• Construction industry accounting experience is preferred.

Compensation

$24.00-$26.00 Hourly
