Billing Specialist

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Specialist to join their team in an onsite, contract-to-hire role. This position is responsible for generating a high volume of invoices daily while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with customer-specific billing requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and process a high volume of invoices, including both high-dollar and low-dollar transactions, within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review purchase orders and supporting documentation to identify pricing discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of customer-specific billing requirements and ensure compliance with all invoicing procedures.
• Submit invoices through customer invoicing platforms, including OpenInvoice, Oracle, Ariba, Cortex, and similar portals.
• Process credit memos and billing adjustments as needed.
• Transfer invoice data accurately into customer and internal accounting systems.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain missing information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely billing.
• Provide support to Accounts Receivable team members during periods of increased workload.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices in a deadline-driven environment.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
• Experience utilizing accounting software and automated billing systems.
• Experience with customer invoicing portals such as OpenInvoice, Oracle, Ariba, Cortex, or similar platforms preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively follow up with customers and all levels of the organization.
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines.
