We're partnering with a well-established financial institution seeking either a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. What You'll Be Doing
This is a well-rounded accounting position offering exposure to nearly every aspect of the accounting function, including:
- Prepare month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial reporting accuracy
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain fixed assets and prepaid expenses in accordance with GAAP
- Process investment transactions, rollovers, and maturities
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Prepare budget reports and assist with the annual budgeting process
- Support external audits and regulatory reporting
- Assist with wire processing and provide backup support for Accounts Payable and daily accounting operations
- Participate in process improvements and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience or public accounting experience from a local or regional CPA firm
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, hands-on environment where responsibilities can vary
- Banking, Credit Union, or Financial Services experience is a plus!
