Tax Staff - Public
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal and state tax filings for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts with a high degree of accuracy.
• Research tax rules and apply current regulations to support compliance, planning, and reporting needs across client engagements.
• Compile, examine, and interpret financial records and supporting documents needed to complete tax returns and related workpapers.
• Investigate tax notices, inconsistencies, and filing questions, then assist in developing clear and timely resolutions.
• Partner with senior accountants and managers to execute client assignments efficiently and maintain quality standards.
• Organize engagement documentation and maintain thorough records that align with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor updates in tax law and accounting guidance to help ensure filings and recommendations remain current.
• Balance multiple projects and due dates in a fast-paced public accounting setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field.• CPA license or active progress toward certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in public accounting or a tax-focused accounting role.
• Hands-on experience preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability.
• Demonstrated accuracy and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication skills with a detail-oriented, client-focused approach.
Compensation
