Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payment operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, and confident managing invoice processing and vendor payments in a fast-paced accounting environment. The role will contribute to accurate financial records, timely disbursements, and consistent adherence to internal accounting procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing payments.

• Assign appropriate general ledger or account codes to invoices to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Process accounts payable transactions efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail and deadlines.

• Prepare and execute vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs.

• Reconcile payment records and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal departments.

• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation and support audit-ready recordkeeping practices.

• Monitor outstanding payables and help ensure all obligations are paid within established terms.

• Assist with updates to accounts payable workflows or related systems when needed as part of operational changes.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Proven ability to code invoices and assign account classifications accurately.
• Working knowledge of ACH payment processing and check disbursement procedures.
• Familiarity with invoice review, data entry, and payment documentation best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear communication skills for working with vendors and cross-functional internal teams.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and standard business software such as spreadsheet applications.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
