Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Burbank, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, and month-end close, while partnering with both retail and e-commerce business functions. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, sound judgment with reconciliations and accruals, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage core accounting activities spanning accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support to help maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare accruals and journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded properly and aligned with supporting schedules.
• Perform account reconciliations for multiple active bank accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
• Monitor daily cash activity, track expected incoming receipts, and provide visibility into short-term cash position.
• Generate and review financial reports, validating balances through tie-outs and organized supporting documentation.
• Complete high-volume data uploads and verify results for accuracy within the accounting system.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and support accounting activities tied to inventory accuracy.
• Partner with retail and e-commerce stakeholders on accounting needs, merchant-related items, and other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in staff accounting with exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Working knowledge of accrual-based accounting, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and analyze financial data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience supporting tax-related processes, including corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return preparation.
• Proficiency with Excel, including tools such as pivot tables and lookup functions for analysis and reconciliation work.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadline-driven deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly across departments.

Compensation

$30.00-$35.00 Hourly
