Fixed Asset Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to support core accounting operations. This role is ideal for a finance specialist who can manage asset records accurately while contributing to general ledger activity, reporting, and month-end close processes. The position also partners across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and compliance tasks to help maintain reliable financial data and timely reporting. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. Responsibilities:
• Oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including recording acquisitions, retirements, transfers, and depreciation while keeping asset records accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to general ledger activity, accruals, amortization, and other recurring accounting transactions.
• Reconcile fixed asset balances, bank accounts, and assigned general ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy each reporting period.
• Support lease accounting by maintaining schedules, tracking payment activity, calculating amortization, and recording related entries.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting by compiling account data, reviewing variances, and helping produce accurate statements.
• Process day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice review, payment support, cash application, and collections follow-up.
• Contribute to payroll and tax-related accounting tasks, including documentation support and required government reporting.
• Use accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools to analyze financial information, maintain records, and prepare reconciliation and reporting schedules.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of accounting experience, with exposure to fixed assets, general ledger work, or related financial operations.• Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation, asset tracking, and fixed asset ledger maintenance.
• Familiarity with account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and month-end close support.
• Understanding of core accounting processes across financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and accounting software to organize, analyze, and report financial data.
• Ability to manage detailed records accurately, prioritize deadlines, and maintain consistency in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with internal teams and external partners.
Compensation
