Payroll Compliance Specialist
The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting payroll-related compliance activities, ensuring accurate payroll processing, reporting, recordkeeping, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This role works closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to maintain compliance, resolve discrepancies, and support ongoing process improvements.
Qualifications:
Support payroll compliance activities, including calculations, reporting, filings, payments, and issue resolution.
Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, proper setup, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Validate employee pay elements, reimbursements, and other payroll-related transactions for appropriate treatment and documentation.
Prepare and support payroll reports, reconciliations, filings, and audit documentation.
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, agency notices, and reporting issues.
Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation for audits, inquiries, and compliance reviews.
Monitor payroll trends, exceptions, and recurring issues to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll administration and reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory inquiries, and documentation requests.
Support system maintenance, testing, reporting, data validation, and payroll-related process improvements.
Develop and maintain procedures, training materials, and process documentation to support consistent payroll practices.
Stay current on payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and other compliance-related updates.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
