Network Administrator

Our client in the Tucson area is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the organization's network infrastructure. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of enterprise networking environments while supporting business operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have experience administering complex network environments, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and implementing technology solutions that support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud-connected network infrastructure.
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network security appliances.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues.
• Implement and maintain network security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Manage network access controls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management.
• Collaborate with systems administrators, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to support infrastructure projects.
• Perform firmware updates, patch management, and hardware lifecycle maintenance.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives for network infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Assist with network design, upgrades, migrations, and technology modernization efforts.
• Participate in on-call support and respond to critical network incidents as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of experience administering enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and VPN technologies.
• Experience managing Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar networking platforms.
• Hands-on experience with firewall administration and network security practices.
• Experience with wireless networking technologies and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of cloud networking concepts within Azure and/or AWS environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or ManageEngine.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and hybrid cloud networking.
• Experience supporting multi-site or geographically distributed environments.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
