The Maintenance Technician - Electrical position supports our NAS A customer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical components for CNC Machines, Mills, Lathes etc within a large machine shop. They will install, repair, rebuild, and maintain in efficient operating condition a wide variety of machines. They will work on the repairs and maintenance for the machines in a large machine shop that includes 3 phase electricity and high voltage.

This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to: 

Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of troubleDismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting partsReading and interpreting electrical documentationTroubleshooting electrical systems and controlsPreventive and predictive electrical maintenanceInstalling and maintaining electrical equipmentCommunicating specifications for major repairs or parts that are neededCleaning machines, maintaining shop areas, organizing parts and tools, and supporting installation of new equipment from a mechanical standpoint

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications: 

In general, the work of a Maintenance Technician - Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

Excellent written and verbal communicationPrevious experience with NASA

Work Environment: 

Environmentally controlled, heated, and cooled shop area subject to machinery noiseLaboratory, test environments, test stands, possible confined spacesOccasional outdoor work
