Overview:

The Logistics Technician II provides logistical services to all Divisions within the Office of Protection. This includes supporting the Secretary of State’s protective detail, the U.S. Ambassador to the Unite Nations protective detail, Foreign Dignitary Details, and major domestic and international security events. The Logistics Technician II will receive direct government oversight, assignments, and direction from the Office of Protection’s Operations Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support vehicle scheduling and preparation (fuel, oil, tires, cleaning) and usage in coordination with the Fleet Management Officer
  • Organize, compile, type, proof, and edit courseware documents, lesson plans and PowerPoint presentations
  • Support coordination activities between Program Managers and provide logistical and general support by performing any and all tasks associated with receiving, unpacking, storing, assembling and issuing supplies, materials and equipment
  • Inspect received/delivered goods, maintain inventory/logistics records, allocate storage space, and/or delivers those goods and materials to the Receiving Office.
  • Maintain storage areas in a neat and clean condition
  • Monitor depletion rate of supplies, materials and equipment. notify supervisor when replenishment and/or repairs and maintenance is required, and take follow-up action, as directed, to assure a prompt and proper receipt of items
  • Maintain property inventories and records of equipment
  • Review monthly vehicle logs and reports from all vehicles nationwide. Identify/assess problems and bring them to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of official vehicles and report any vehicle anomalies, to include any defect or degradation of armor, to the appropriate supervisor and resolve the problem as directed.
  • Coordinate the shipping of vehicles and equipment for the Office of Protection to off-site locations nationwide.
  • Pick up and delivers official correspondence and special delivery items
  • guide un-cleared building maintenance/equipment repair/delivery personnel, when necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Three or more years’ experience providing logistics, warehouse, and property management/accountability.
  • College degree is preferred, but demonstrated work experience will be considered.
  • Training is required to maintain this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent, timely, and precise organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
  • Possess a flexible, team-oriented approach to work.

  • N/A.

Security Clearance:

SECRET Level Required

  • Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance.
