Overview
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the company's national sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share across integrated facilities management (IFM), janitorial, engineering, maintenance, and specialty services. This executive leader will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, build and lead a high-performing business development team, strengthen key customer relationships, and partner closely with Operations to ensure exceptional service delivery and long-term client retention.
The VP of Sales will report directly to the President and play a critical role in shaping the organization's growth strategy.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute the company's national sales strategy to achieve aggressive revenue and profitability goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop Regional Sales Directors, Business Development Managers, and strategic account sales teams.
- Establish sales objectives, KPIs, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, aviation, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, education, and corporate facilities.
- Build executive-level relationships with prospective clients and strategic partners.
- Lead negotiations for large, multi-site and national service agreements.
- Oversee complex RFP, RFQ, and proposal strategies.
Revenue Growth:
- Drive new contract acquisition while expanding existing customer relationships.
- Collaborate with Operations to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Develop market penetration strategies for targeted industries and geographic regions.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
Strategic Planning:
- Partner with executive leadership to establish annual sales plans and long-term growth initiatives.
- Develop pricing strategies in collaboration with Finance and Operations.
- Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives when applicable.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build long-term executive relationships with key clients.
- Participate in executive business reviews with strategic customers.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention through strong partnership with Operations.
Sales Operations:
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management through CRM.
- Analyze sales performance metrics and develop action plans to improve results.
- Manage sales budgets and departmental resources.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience.
- 5+ years leading national or regional sales teams.
- Proven success selling integrated facilities management, janitorial, engineering, maintenance, security, or outsourced business services.
- Demonstrated experience closing enterprise and multi-million-dollar service contracts.
- Strong financial acumen including pricing strategy, margins, and contract negotiations.
- Experience responding to complex RFPs and national account opportunities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40–60%.
Preferred:
- MBA or advanced business degree.
- Experience selling Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) solutions.
- Existing network within commercial real estate, aviation, logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, or Fortune 1000 organizations.
