Statement of Learning Outcomes for FWS Student Employees:

Function of Position:

Assist the Sports Information Director (SID) and Athletics Department with game operations, statistics, communications, social media, event management, and administrative support while gaining professional experience in collegiate athletics.

This position is funded exclusively through Federal Work Study (FWS). Applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office for FWS eligibility prior to being considered for employment. Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of athletic events.
  • Operate game-day technology, including scoreboards, statistics software, and live streaming equipment.
  • Assist with social media content creation and promotion of athletic events.
  • Compile and distribute game statistics and reports.
  • Support photography and videography efforts during games and events.
  • Help maintain athletics website content and team information.
  • Provide customer service to spectators, coaches, officials, and student-athletes.
  • Perform general office and administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing
  • Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study employment.
  • Enrolled student in good academic standing.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by athletic schedules.
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently
  • Interest in athletics, sports communications, marketing, or event management.
  • Experience with social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.


Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours/week
