• Prepare and interpret financial analyses that highlight operating patterns, spending variances, and cost trends, then communicate practical recommendations based on the results.
• Evaluate accounting controls and finance procedures on an ongoing basis to support compliance expectations and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Oversee recurring grant billing activities, including monthly and quarterly invoicing, while maintaining accurate records tied to funding requirements.
• Develop and maintain payroll allocation schedules and complete related accounting entries to support accurate expense distribution in the general ledger.
• Reconcile supply and payroll-related expenditures to ensure transactions are properly recorded and aligned with grant and organizational reporting needs.
• Partner with accounting leadership to support federal grant billing processes and assist with year-end financial reporting activities.
• Work closely with accounts payable, payroll, and program teams to ensure receivables, staffing expenses, and grant charges are assigned correctly across funding sources.
Qualifications:
Other requirements for the Senior Accountant position include and are not limited to:
• Prior experience in nonprofit accounting, preferably within healthcare, hospital, or social assistance environments.
