Purchasing Coordinator
We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to support planning, procurement, and inventory activities for a permanent opportunity based in Aurora, Illinois in the food industry. This role partners with internal teams and suppliers to help maintain material availability, improve purchasing efficiency, and support accurate forecasting and reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong coordination skills, solid purchasing experience, and the ability to work effectively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage demand planning inputs and help maintain accurate forecasts to support purchasing decisions and material availability.
• Coordinate procurement activities by creating, tracking, and updating purchase orders to align with supply needs and business priorities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor inventory levels, reduce shortages, and support balanced stock positions.
• Build productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve communication, resolve issues, and keep orders moving on schedule.
• Prepare reports and analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with global partners and internal departments to align supply plans, timelines, and material requirements.
• Support ongoing improvements in purchasing systems and reporting processes as part of operational efficiency efforts.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication, responsiveness, and strong day-to-day coordination.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement coordination, or a related supply chain role.• Hands-on experience managing purchase orders and supporting day-to-day purchasing activities.
• Working knowledge of forecasting, supply planning, and inventory coordination principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal departments, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail in reporting and data tracking.
• Experience supporting purchasing functions in a fast-paced business environment.
• Proficiency with standard business systems and tools used for purchasing, reporting, and materials coordination.
Compensation
