Payroll Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Direct end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple states, ensuring pay is completed accurately and on schedule for various employee classifications and compensation types.
• Oversee payroll-related compliance by applying federal, state, and local regulations, including wage and hour requirements, tax obligations, and year-end reporting activities.
• Review payroll tax filings, account reconciliations, and audit support materials to maintain accuracy and readiness for internal or external review.
• Manage payroll adjustments such as garnishments, levies, bonuses, commissions, and deductions while safeguarding data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Record payroll activity in the general ledger, reconcile accrual accounts, and support monthly and annual close processes tied to compensation and benefits expenses.
• Approve payroll and benefits invoices for payment and help ensure timely disbursement to vendors, agencies, and tax authorities.
• Produce scheduled and ad hoc payroll reports for finance, HR, and leadership teams, using system data to support analysis and decision-making.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to strengthen payroll processes, improve controls, and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation.
• Maintain data integrity within ADP Workforce Now and support payroll-related process enhancements, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of full cycle payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax compliance, filings, deposits, and reporting requirements.
• Experience with general ledger postings, journal entries, reconciliations, and payroll-related audits.
• Solid knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour standards, and common payroll control practices.
• High attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and accurately.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
• Certified Payroll designation and experience in logistics, manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations are a plus.
Compensation
