Medical Receptionist
Responsibilities:
• Manage appointment calendars by arranging, adjusting, and confirming patient visits through the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Welcome patients upon arrival, provide courteous front-desk assistance, and create a welcoming office experience.
• Collect, review, and update patient demographic and insurance details to keep records current and accurate.
• Handle check-in and check-out activities while protecting patient privacy and following healthcare compliance standards.
• Answer incoming calls, address routine questions, and route messages or inquiries to the appropriate clinical or administrative team members.
• Record clear and complete messages for physicians and staff to support timely follow-up and communication.
• Partner with providers, medical assistants, and office personnel to help maintain smooth daily patient flow.
• Perform administrative support tasks such as scanning documents, filing records, sending faxes, and documenting patient interactions when needed.
• Keep the reception and waiting areas neat, organized, and welcoming for patients and visitors.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical receptionist, medical front office, or similar healthcare administrative role.• Working knowledge of patient scheduling, registration, and front-desk support within a medical office environment.
• Familiarity with Epic or another electronic medical record system for appointment coordination and record updates.
• Ability to check patients in and out accurately while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and common healthcare office procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Compensation
