Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting activities for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California. This Long-term Contract position will contribute to accurate financial reporting by managing daily accounting tasks, assisting with period-end close activities, and maintaining well-organized financial records. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, solid journal entry skills, and knowledge of corporate and sales tax processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank activity, and supporting schedules to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account analysis and preparation of financial support documentation.

• Maintain organized accounting records and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and month-end close support.

• Familiarity with sales tax processes and corporate tax reporting requirements.

• Ability to prepare accurate financial records and review supporting documentation carefully.
