Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's onsite team in St. Louis, Missouri. This contract opportunity offers either a regular or part-time schedule, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week. The position is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing day-to-day payment operations, works well independently, and can stay organized in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices and credit memos accurately while maintaining proper account coding and supporting documentation.
• Prepare, issue, and print checks, and coordinate electronic disbursements such as ACH and wire payments.
• Record incoming check deposits and maintain accurate transaction records across accounts payable activities.
• Oversee positive pay tasks and review bank account activity to help ensure payments are accurate and secure.
• Handle refund requests promptly and follow established procedures for review, approval, and documentation.
• Support core accounts payable operations by tracking payment requests, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining organized records.
• Assist with account reconciliations and help investigate variances when needed.
• Work within financial systems such as NetSuite and adapt quickly to internal tools and processes.
• Prioritize multiple deadlines effectively while communicating clearly with internal stakeholders and payment recipients.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of hands-on accounts payable experience in an accounting or finance setting.
• Previous experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new systems and software efficiently.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
• Experience managing invoice coding, payment processing, and related accounts payable documentation.
• Ability to prioritize competing requests and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with ACH transactions, check runs, and general payment processing practices.

Compensation

$26.60-$30.80 Hourly
