Global Forwarding Coordinator

We are looking for a detail-oriented Global Forwarding Coordinator to support freight and transportation activities for a Contract assignment based in Torrance, California. This role is well suited for someone with experience in ocean imports, trucking coordination, drayage, or related logistics operations who can keep shipments moving efficiently while maintaining strong communication with customers and service partners. The assignment is expected to last at least one month, with the potential for extension, and follows a Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily shipment activity across ocean import and domestic transportation moves to help ensure cargo progresses according to schedule.

• Communicate with customers, carriers, trucking providers, and internal teams to provide timely updates, resolve service issues, and support smooth delivery execution.

• Prepare, review, and maintain shipping records, operational documents, and status reports with a high level of accuracy.

• Dispatch trucking and drayage resources as needed, confirming pickup and delivery details while addressing changes in transit plans.

• Monitor freight milestones, identify delays or exceptions, and take appropriate action to minimize disruption to service.

• Support auditing and reporting tasks by validating operational data, tracking performance details, and maintaining data integrity in company systems.

• Follow transportation regulations, customer requirements, and standard operating procedures when handling documentation and shipment coordination.

• Assist with order-related follow-up, collections support, and other administrative logistics activities required to keep operations organized and responsive.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in logistics, ocean import operations, freight coordination, dispatching, trucking, drayage, or a closely related transportation environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally by phone and in writing.
• Experience handling shipping documents, operational records, and reporting tasks with close attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of transportation procedures, cargo movement, and compliance expectations within a fast-paced logistics setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort learning operational systems used for tracking and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems quickly, and maintain accuracy under time-sensitive conditions.
• English communication skills are required; Spanish language ability is helpful.
• Availability to work a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a contract assignment of at least one month.

Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 Hourly
