Staff Accountant
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant with 2–4 years of small CPA firm experience and a strong background supporting both bookkeeping and tax engagements. This role is ideal for someone who has worked with small business clients and has experience handling a mix of QuickBooks bookkeeping, corporate tax returns (1120S), and individual business owner tax returns (1040). QuickBooks experience is a plus. This is an in-office role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping services for small business clients, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and financial data review.
- Prepare and support corporate tax returns, specifically 1120S filings.
- Prepare and assist with individual tax returns (1040) for business owners.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure client information is organized and up to date.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities for client engagements.
- Work closely with team members and clients to gather needed documentation and resolve accounting or tax-related questions.
- Support multiple client accounts simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Help identify process improvements and provide reliable day-to-day accounting support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in a small CPA firm required.
- Experience with a mix of small business bookkeeping, 1120S corporate tax returns, and 1040 individual returns for business owners required.
- Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor with strong communication and client service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite office environment.
