Compliance Technician
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support U.S. payroll operations for a Long-term Contract position based in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will partner closely with senior payroll staff to help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with applicable deductions and orders, and respond to employee payroll-related inquiries. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is organized, analytical, and comfortable working with payroll data and systems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Support full-cycle U.S. payroll activities by assisting with payroll preparation, validation, and completion within established deadlines.
• Review employee time entries for completeness and accuracy before payroll is finalized, resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Examine payroll calculations to help confirm correct wages, deductions, and tax-related withholdings.
• Verify 401(k) deductions and related payroll entries to promote accurate retirement contribution processing.
• Administer wage garnishment requests by applying orders correctly and maintaining proper documentation.
• Respond to employee payroll questions submitted through ServiceNow and provide timely follow-up or escalation when appropriate.
• Work alongside senior payroll team members to identify issues, investigate variances, and support ongoing compliance with payroll procedures.
• Maintain organized payroll records and assist with routine reporting and administrative tasks related to payroll operations.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience supporting U.S. payroll processing in a detail-focused environment.• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to review, organize, and analyze payroll-related data.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices, compliance standards, and employee deduction processing.
• Experience handling timecard review, payroll validation, and garnishment administration.
• Familiarity with retirement deduction processes such as 401(k) payroll coordination.
• Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform to manage employee support requests.
• Exposure to Workday Payroll is preferred.
• Payroll certification is a plus, but not required.
