Tax Preparer

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to support a detail-oriented services firm in Los Angeles, California during a busy tax season period. This is an onsite Contract position focused on preparing and reviewing individual and small business tax filings with accuracy, efficiency, and strong client service. The role is ideal for someone who is confident using Lacerte Tax Software and can manage deadlines while maintaining compliance with current tax requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and examine individual and small business tax returns, including common entity filings, using Lacerte Tax Software.
• Complete federal and state tax submissions with a high degree of accuracy and within required timeframes.
• Work directly with clients to collect tax documents, resolve missing information, and address inconsistencies in submitted records.
• Safeguard sensitive financial information while following applicable tax laws, regulatory standards, and firm guidelines.
• Partner with team members and firm leadership to prioritize workloads and meet seasonal filing deadlines.
• Review return details carefully to identify errors, reduce processing issues, and support quality tax deliverables.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of recent experience preparing tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Hands-on proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software is required.
• Strong knowledge of individual income tax returns and familiarity with business entity filings.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to organize work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative onsite team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.

Compensation

$30.00-$35.00 Hourly
