Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a Contract position based in Louisville, Kentucky. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly supported. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing and reviewing entries, validating account activity, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.
• Maintain the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy by analyzing transactions and resolving discrepancies across assigned accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to confirm the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and resolve outstanding items in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Use Oracle to manage accounting data, support transaction review, and assist with reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial information, clarify accounting treatment, and support routine reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes within a complex accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account analysis.
• Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with careful attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Oracle and the ability to navigate accounting systems efficiently.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial documentation standards.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation

$26.13-$30.25 Hourly
