HR Specialist

Compensation: $27 to $33 Hourly

Our client in Pasadena is seeking a Leave of Absence Specialist for a hybrid contract role. This position is responsible for administering and coordinating employee leave of absence programs while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of leave laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer leave of absence cases from intake through resolution, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, pregnancy disability leave, workers’ compensation, and other company leave programs. Based on general knowledge.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR regarding leave policies, eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes. Based on general knowledge.
  • Review medical certifications and supporting documentation to determine leave eligibility and ensure timely follow-up. Based on general knowledge.
  • Track leave dates, status updates, required paperwork, and accommodations in HRIS or case management systems. Based on general knowledge.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including HR, payroll, benefits, and management, to ensure accurate coordination of leave and benefits administration. Based on general knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations and company policies. Based on general knowledge.
  • Support the interactive process for accommodation requests and return-to-work transitions as needed. Based on general knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and handle all information with a high level of confidentiality. Based on general knowledge.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with leave-related reporting and audits. Based on general knowledge.



Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in leave administration, human resources, benefits, or a related area. Based on general knowledge.
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, workers’ compensation, and other applicable leave laws. Based on general knowledge.
  • Experience managing multiple leave cases in a fast-paced environment. Based on general knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Based on general knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Based on general knowledge.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and case tracking systems. Based on general knowledge.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information. Based on general knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Based on general knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting California leave laws and regulations. Based on general knowledge.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or related credentials is a plus. Based on general knowledge.



Compensation

$27.00-$33.00 Hourly
