Logistics Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to support shipping and receiving operations for a Contract position based in Illinois. In this role, you will help keep freight moving efficiently by managing documentation, coordinating schedules, and communicating with carriers, customers, and vendors. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and can maintain accuracy across day-to-day logistics activities.

Responsibilities:
• Create and review shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipment tickets, to ensure all records are complete and accurate.
• Monitor inbound and outbound material activity in the system by scanning transactions and maintaining up-to-date tracking information.
• Organize daily truck appointments and collaborate with transportation providers to help prevent delivery or pickup delays.
• Assess order details and shipping notifications to determine fulfillment priorities and select appropriate transportation methods.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and carriers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and issue resolution.
• Oversee the receipt and placement of incoming materials to support orderly handling and storage within the facility.
• Assist warehouse personnel with maintaining accurate daily logs and related shipping or receiving paperwork.
• If you have experience operating a forklift, help unload, store, inspect, and position materials while reporting equipment or shipment concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience supporting shipping, receiving, or general logistics operations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and process transportation documentation with a high level of precision.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with carriers, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Familiarity with shipment tracking systems and coordinating transportation schedules.
• Forklift certification is a plus for candidates who may assist with material handling responsibilities.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
