Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - Hybrid schedule in Central Islip (Suffolk County)

Seeking a Senior Accountant to support a Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) project for an acquisitive company in the consumer goods industry. This role requires advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

• Lead a Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) validation project by verifying product costing and COGS calculations within the ERP system.
• Partner with IT and Finance to document and validate the end-to-end COGS flow, ensuring system-generated costing is accurate.
• Analyze and maintain product costing for 500+ SKUs, identifying discrepancies and supporting costing accuracy.
• Support SKU rationalization and integration activities while developing automated reports and analysis using advanced Excel.
• Create and maintain process documentation and SOPs while partnering with Finance and IT to improve processes, data integrity, and operational efficiencies. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably within a CPG environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, and macros/VBA.
• Experience with financial reporting, data analysis, and process automation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
