Controller
Our client, a growing manufacturing company, is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting function and partner with executive leadership. This individual will own the monthly close process, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and internal controls while helping drive operational improvements as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll oversight, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
- Manage inventory accounting, cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory reconciliations.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and operational variances.
- Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax support, sales tax compliance, and external reporting requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Partner with operations to improve inventory controls, costing, and overall financial performance.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing.
- Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience with inventory, cost accounting, standard costing, and physical inventories.- INCLUDING EDI
- ERP experience required; QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Background
- Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, automotive, or assembly environment.
- Experience supporting high-growth or private equity-backed organizations is a plus.
- Demonstrated success improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and building scalable accounting functions.

Compensation
