Sr. Financial Analyst

In this onsite role in Sonoma County, as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support clients across the Bay Area on high-impact projects involving FP& A, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, business partnering, and process improvement initiatives. Assignments may range from supporting high-growth startups to established public companies, private equity-backed organizations, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and manufacturing businesses.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges, quickly adapting to new environments, and serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Build and enhance financial models to support strategic decision-making, business cases, and investment analyses.
- Analyze revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, profitability, and key business metrics.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Partner with department leaders to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Create dashboard reporting and KPI analysis to improve business visibility and decision-making.
- Support M& A activities, including due diligence, acquisition modeling, and post-acquisition integration analysis.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Assist with board, investor, and executive-level presentations.
- Evaluate business processes and implement reporting automation and efficiency improvements.
- Support ERP implementations, system conversions, and reporting enhancements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Sales, HR, and Executive Leadership teams.
Typical Client Projects
- Building forecasting models from scratch for rapidly growing organizations.
- Supporting budgeting and planning cycles during periods of transformation.
- Performing profitability and margin analysis across products, customers, or business units.
- Creating executive dashboards and KPI reporting packages.
- Assisting with fundraising, investor reporting, or strategic planning initiatives.
- Providing interim FP& A leadership during employee leave, turnover, or organizational restructuring.
- Supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and integration projects.
- Leading financial analysis efforts during ERP implementations and business process transformations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
4+ years of progressive FP& A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or financial analysis experience.
Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and complex reporting.
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Dynamics, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering abilities.
