Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a respected commercial construction company seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy project accounting team.

If you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment where accuracy and organization are valued, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting while supporting multiple active construction projects. You'll play an important role in keeping vendor payments current and helping projects stay on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume subcontractor and vendor invoices
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Code invoices to jobs, departments, and cost centers
• Prepare weekly check, ACH, and wire payment batches
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and payment documentation
• Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred
• Experience with Sage, Vista, Foundation, or similar ERP software is a plus
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
