G/L Accountant

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our client in Sparks. This role is ideal for an accounting detail oriented who enjoys owning the month-end close process, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and partnering with multiple departments to support accurate financial reporting. 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjusting entries
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and variances
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes as needed
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting and filings
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy
• Provide support during financial audits and other compliance-related activities
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger exposure
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of GAAP Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• ERP experience preferred
• Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial industry experience is a plus
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
