Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to injury from hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.
Shift
Primarily day shift; Monday through Friday. Some evenings, holidays, and weekends per business needs.
Job Summary
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of performance and quality improvement activities related to medication use safety for Retail Pharmacy Services and the UK Healthcare Enterprise; work with UK Healthcare leaders to address any discovered deficiencies. Identify potential patient safety improvements. Lead working groups to achieve continued quality improvement; conduct medication safety rounds and participate in accreditation tracers and other activities for UK Healthcare Enterprise to ensure compliance with state, federal, professional and accreditation standards; coordinate the review, investigate and code medication-related incident events reported via the Safety Intelligence System (SI); and provide education and promotion of safe medication practices.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Strong clinical and leadership skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience
Pharm D with 5 years of pharmacy experience or Pharm D with PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration preferred. Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration also preferred.
