Aerospace Electrician III
Description:
The Aerospace Electrician III is a senior-level position responsible for executing complex aerospace electrical installations, modifications, testing, and troubleshooting. This role leads technical execution, coordinates with Quality and Program teams, and ensures compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
This position operates independently, leads small teams, and provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior electricians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead complex electrical installations, modifications, and system integration
- Interpret advanced schematics, drawings, and technical instructions
- Perform advanced testing and troubleshooting (continuity, insulation, fault isolation)
- Coordinate work sequencing with QA and Program Management
- Lead small teams and oversee task execution
- Ensure compliance with FOD, safety, and quality standards
- Support inspections, testing, and customer walkthroughs
- Maintain clean and controlled work environments
- Communicate technical status, risks, and solutions clearly
- Mentor and train Level I and II electricians
- Exercise stop-work authority when required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 5–8 years relevant aerospace or technical experience
- Advanced ability to read and interpret schematics and installation packages
- Strong troubleshooting and leadership capability
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to obtain required clearances
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Aerospace or defense program experience
- Military or shipyard experience
- Advanced technical training in electrical or avionics
- Familiarity with quality systems and FOD programs
CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
- Advanced Electrical OJT or equivalent experience
- OSHA-10 Maritime (preferred)
- Advanced safety certifications (First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work in hangars, shipyards, and integration environments
- Lift up to 40 lbs (heavier with assistance)
- Work at heights and confined spaces
- Use required PPE and safety equipment
This is temporary, short-term employment with the expectation that when the project is complete within 6 +/- months. This is a benefit eligible role with a full comprehensive benefit package available.
