POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) Flow Cytometry Core Facility is a Cancer Centersubsidized shared resource. Its function is to provide high quality, cost effective state-of-the-art flow cytometry and multiparameter cell sorting instrumentation and associated expertise and services to all investigators at the college. The facility permits maximum and efficient utilization of the equipment and serves to enhance the quality and scope of scientific research performed at Albert Einstein.
The person will:
- Perform daily maintenance of the flow cytometry analyzer and run QC daily
- Setup cell sorter including QC and perform Cell sorting daily.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and require only infrequent guidance
- Occasionally train or guide other lab members
- Communicated with engineer for instrument troubleshooting
- Occasionally help with experiment design;
- Occasionally modify technical procedures;
- May modify experimental protocols;
- Occasionally analyze and interpret data;
- May occasionally make written contributions to papers and grant proposals;*
- An understanding of moderately complex scientific literature and moderate understanding of research goals and rationale is required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent skills or experience, and two to four and one half years of related experience.
• BS Degree in Biology or other Medical/Life Sciences-related field preferred.
• Previous Flow Cytometry knowledge and working experience preferred.
