Rural Post Secondary Economic Development (RPED) Grant Pathway Assistant (Temporary Part Time- 20hrs)

Qualifications/ Roles and Responsibilities of RPED Pathway Coordinators:

  • Support rural High School students and WNY community colleges connections to ASC- by attending and participating in outreach events, on campus visits and transfer fairs. 
  • Assist with planning career pathways visits to rural high schools and WNY community colleges
  • Become knowledgeable about ASC Career Pathways and articulation agreements.
  • Assist with planning on and off campus visits for rural high schools and community college transfer students.
  • Become familiar with ASC Transfer Credit Equivalency Tools
  • Develop the capability to interpret transfer credit equivalencies and assist students with understanding their pathway to ASC graduation.
  • Attend ASC Orientation, Admitted Student Days and Open House events
  • Attend High school student Pathway visit days
  • Assist rural and transfer students in obtaining employment on ASC campus when transitioning to college, attend and promote campus job fairs, offer job attainment support and resources.
  • Connect rural and transfer students with Career Development and Planning to improve resume and interview skills.
  • Attend Community Colleges of Appalachia trainings annually
  • Assist and facilitate Summer Mobile Learning Lab workshops
  • Support RPED operations and dual and concurrent enrollment programs.
  • Assist with program purchasing and event planning.


Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred 2-5 years' experience in K-12 schools or higher education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with rural and at-risk populations
  • Broad education knowledge including use of effective student success strategies

Preferred:

  • Community College Experience
