Part-Time Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support daily finance operations for a Contract position based in Providence, Rhode Island. This role will assist with payment processing, payroll-related activities, and a variety of accounting assignments while working closely with the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate can manage changing priorities, maintain accuracy in data entry, and contribute reliably across multiple projects.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices and support accounts payable activities to help ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks by entering and reviewing employee payment information with care.
• Provide day-to-day support to the Accounting Manager across routine accounting duties and special assignments.
• Enter financial and operational data into company systems while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Review invoice documentation for completeness and follow up on missing or unclear information as needed.
• Shift smoothly between recurring responsibilities and ad hoc projects based on business needs.
• Help organize accounting records and maintain documentation that supports accurate reporting and audit readiness.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting accounts payable functions in an accounting or finance environment.
• Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Familiarity with invoice processing procedures and related financial documentation.
• Working knowledge of payroll support tasks and handling confidential information appropriately.
• Comfort using computer-based systems for entering, updating, and tracking accounting data.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments at once and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and dependable follow-through in a fast-moving office setting.

Compensation

$21.85-$25.30 Hourly
