Fund Manager

Compensation: $90 to $95 Yearly

We are looking for a meticulous Fund Manager to oversee core fund accounting activities and support accurate financial oversight for an investment-focused organization in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position plays a central role in maintaining reliable records, preparing reporting packages, and tracking investment-related transactions across the fund structure. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate fund accounting records by recording journal entries, managing ledger activity, and performing routine account reconciliations.
• Support monthly and period-end close activities, including the calculation of net asset values and verification of supporting financial data.
• Prepare recurring financial reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Track cash movements, investment activity, capital funding events, and distribution transactions to ensure records remain current and reliable.
• Reconcile portfolio positions, banking activity, and investor balances to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Partner with auditors, fund administrators, custodians, and other third-party providers to support reporting and operational accuracy.
• Assist in producing financial statements that align with applicable accounting guidance and reporting standards.
• Contribute to regulatory, tax, and compliance-related reporting by gathering data and helping ensure timely submissions.
• Review expenses, accruals, and supporting documentation to confirm completeness, accuracy, and proper allocation across funds.
• Recommend workflow enhancements and stronger accounting controls to improve reporting quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within fund accounting, investment accounting, asset management, or private equity.
• Solid understanding of general ledger processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting practices.
• Experience with partnership accounting, investor reporting, or complex multi-entity environments is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting platforms or fund administration systems.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent organization and clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to hedge funds, private equity, real estate funds, or mutual fund structures is advantageous.
• Certification, or active progress toward one, is considered a plus.

Compensation

$90,000.00-$95,000.00 Yearly
