Talent Acquisition Specialist

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruitment efforts for a growing healthcare organization in Richmond, Virginia. This contract to hire opportunity will lead recruitment across both patient-facing and operational teams, helping attract experienced talent and deliver a positive candidate experience. The role blends full-cycle recruiting, community-based outreach, and process coordination to build strong recruitment pipelines and support timely onboarding. This person will also be responsible for overseeing onboarding, orientation, and providing consultative assistance in refining and editing the full cycle talent acqusition process for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Lead recruitment activities from requisition intake through offer stage for a range of clinical and administrative positions.

• Identify and engage talent using online sourcing platforms, social networks, referral channels, community partnerships, and applicant tracking tools.

• Partner with HR and operational leaders to coordinate employment offers and move selected candidates efficiently through the recruitment process.

• Represent the organization at career fairs, school events, workforce initiatives, and healthcare recruiting programs to expand local candidate networks.

• Build ongoing relationships with educational institutions and community organizations to strengthen long-term sourcing strategies.

• Prepare recruiting materials for external events and monitor outreach effectiveness by tracking participation and conversion results.

• Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data within the applicant tracking system while supporting organized recruitment workflows.

• Coordinate pre-employment activities such as background screening, reference checks, drug testing, and credential verification as required.

• Compile recruiting metrics including time to fill, source effectiveness, acceptance rates, and open requisition progress, and recommend improvements to processes and candidate experience.

Qualifications:

• Experience managing full-cycle recruitment for multiple job types

• Experience in leadership/management within HR or recruiting, or in a team lead position

• Ability to provide input to form a defined full cycle recruitment process

• Strong ability to source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and community-based recruiting channels.

• Knowledge of employment compliance standards, including equal employment and accessibility regulations.

• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and maintaining accurate recruitment documentation.

• Ability to organize pre-employment and onboarding coordination with close attention to detail.

• Comfort representing an employer at public hiring events and building partnerships with schools and workforce programs.

• Skill in analyzing recruiting data and using metrics to improve hiring outcomes.

• Background in talent acquisition, corporate recruiting, talent sourcing, or employer branding.
