Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join a Contract opportunity within the advertising industry in New York, New York. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with financial records, maintaining accuracy across high-volume transactions, and supporting day-to-day payment operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, solid spreadsheet skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner while confirming proper documentation and payment details.
• Assign correct accounting codes to invoices and enter transaction data into financial records with a high degree of precision.
• Support vendor communication by addressing payment questions, researching discrepancies, and helping resolve invoice-related issues.
• Reconcile bank activity and company credit card transactions to ensure records are complete and accurate.
• Assist with scheduled check runs and help verify that payments are prepared in accordance with internal procedures.
• Contribute to month-end close activities by organizing payable records and supporting account review tasks.
• Maintain accurate data entry across accounts payable files, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
• Provide general accounting support and complete additional finance projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, and payment preparation procedures.
• Experience entering vendor invoices and maintaining accurate financial data in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage vendor interactions professionally and resolve basic payment or invoice discrepancies.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and month-end support tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and organizing financial information.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
