Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. This position offers the opportunity to support day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to accurate financial reporting and tax-related activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support monthly accounting activity.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.

• Assist with corporate tax and sales tax processes, including compiling information needed for filings and compliance reporting.

• Support the preparation of corporate tax return documentation by organizing financial schedules and related records.

• Maintain accounting transactions and reporting within QuickBooks, ensuring entries are complete and properly classified.

• Participate in month-end close activities by reviewing balances, updating supporting schedules, and meeting reporting deadlines.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy of financial information.

• Contribute to special accounting projects and operational priorities as needed, including work related to evolving internal systems or processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role within a business environment that values accuracy and organization.

• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and hands-on experience preparing journal entries.

• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and supporting documentation for corporate tax returns.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and confidence working with accounting systems and financial records.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize work accurately and meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments on accounting matters.
